Floater, Buckeye and I departed Marble Spring Campsite at 7:00 am determined to make mileage today. We need 17 miles to get within 11 miles of Buena Vista so we'll be there in plenty of time to resupply food and hitch to Lexington to hit the Outfitter for Hiking stuff. We stopped at Matt's Creek shelter for a quick snack and John's hollow shelter for lunch. Around 2:00 pm it began to rain as we were ascending Little Rocky Row. We hiked in the rain for a couple of hours until it let up. Shortly after 5:00 pm we arrived at Punchbowl Shelter and set up our tents. Tomorrow 11 miles to Buena Vista. Buena Vista is 55 miles to Waynesboro and the start of the Shenandoah Valley.
